DŰVŐ Ensemble

Since its foundation in 1979, the DŰVŐ Ensemble, performing in the traditional string band formation, has been a dedicated ambassador of the musical heritage of the Carpathian Basin. For more than four decades, the ensemble has remained committed to presenting folk music in its authentic and traditional form.

Their work is marked by numerous ethnographic field collections, recordings, and concert tours. They have brought the richness of Hungarian folk music to audiences around the world, from China to the Baltic States, from Israel to Sweden, and from the United States to Siberia. They are also regular guests in South America, Canada, and the USA.

The ensemble’s repertoire includes the music of all ethnic communities of the Carpathian Basin. Over the years, DŰVŐ has undergone several changes, and the current line-up has been performing together since 2008.
