Dance Group “Macuilxochitl Xochipilli” – Mexico

This group was born in the city of Iguala de la Independencia, Guerrero, cradle of the National Flag.

Under the direction of Maestro Figueroa, the group earned significant awards in dance competitions. Upon the passing of Prof. Figueroa in 1980, leadership passed to his daughter, Prof. Orquídea Gessel Figueroa Gómez, who not only ensured the group gained national recognition, but also took it beyond borders, participating in events.

Currently, the Macuilxochitl Xochipilli Dance Group is made up of young professionals and university, high school, and secondary school students. They perform independently, representing the municipality of Iguala and the state of Guerrero.
