Mórahalom Folk Dance Association – Hungary
Folk dance education in Mórahalom began in 1995 under the leadership of Mrs. Csonka. After completing their studies at the folk dance department of the local art school, for a long time there was no opportunity for dancers to continue dancing in an official, organized form in Mórahalom. Therefore, in 2015, dancers dedicated to folk dance founded the Mórahalom Folk Dance Association. The enthusiastic members of the association preserve and nurture our folk dance traditions alongside their studies and work, and they regularly perform at events in Mórahalom and the surrounding region.
In addition, they themselves organize annual gala performances, folk dance festivals, and dance houses, which contribute to building community and maintaining friendships formed through a shared love for folk dance.
The association’s professional director is Richárd Preszner, and its president is Réka Makra.
