Cultural and Folklore Association “Ittiri Cannedu” – Sardinia – Italy
The Cultural and Folklore Association “Ittiri Cannedu” was founded in the early 1970s in Ittiri, a town in northern Sardinia, Italy by a group of young enthusiasts came together with a clear objective: to research, recover, and preserve traditional Sardinian dances and music, particularly from their region of Logudoro. Thanks to this dedicated effort, the group was able to revive an important part of Sardinian intangible cultural heritage.
This intergenerational collaboration became the foundation for the group’s authenticity and depth of knowledge.
The group’s repertoire consists entirely of traditional music and dances, with a special focus on styles native to Ittiri and the wider Logudoro region. Their performances are characterized by the use of live music, including voice, guitar, and the diatonic accordion, creating an authentic and engaging atmosphere.
