Fitos Dezső Company: The Village

A folk dance theater performance. Our roots stretch deep. The village’s closed, tradition-preserving community has united with nature, bound by unbreakable ties. Here, there was time for singing, dancing, birth, and death… Children observed the world from their fathers’ and grandfathers’ shoulders. We wish to convey this ancient knowledge with their help, showing it through dance and music. We believe in the contemporary manifestation of folk dance, in its ability to reach today’s people with its power and naturalness, to display the widest range of emotions, and to create theater.
