La Agrupación Folclórica Los Opitas – Colombia

„La Agrupación Folclórica Los Opitas” was founded in 1994 with the leadership of Carmenza Méndez Guarnizo. Since then Colombia  proudly presented itself in Mexico, Italy, Paraguay, Argentina and Ecuador at numerous events.  „Los Opitas”  preserves with deep respect the heritage of the composers of Huila County. The group focuses primarily on its local, traditional cultural heritage. Their leader, Carmenza Méndez Guarniz, was one of the ten cultural representatives of the Ministry of Culture and El Tiempo Colombia in 2008.
