Matija Gubec – Serbia

The Croatian cultural and educational society “Matija Gubec” Tavankut was founded in 1946, on the foundations of a drama group. Later, the folklore and art department stands out in the foreground of the Society, and together with it, the tambura band, which, equally, convey the traditions and customs of the Croats of Bunjeva through song and dance, and become the hallmark of the Society, and ultimately of the entire Tavankut and the entire Croatian community in this area. Today, the Society is an active player in the development of rural tourism in many areas, in addition to culture and art as well.
